Dean Potter: Falling To Fly
“Dean Potter is characterized by creativity, commitment and challenge. He started climbing as a child, with a free solo fall from a stone wall as one of his earliest memories. Since that time, he has speed soloed Half Dome and El Capitan, Cerro Torre, and Fitzroy.” Very inspiring movie…

I’m wondering.. What if he falls from the first 5-10 meters of a climb with only that parachute? Really cool though, nice vid.

I think that he tends to start climbs high enough in order to give himself time to open the shute

True that Pat. I’ve seen him traverse into a face on the Eiger about mid-way up so the parachute was a viable option all the way through. Although, you gotta remember this is a guy who has done a lot of free-soloing sans base rig as well. Loved the part of him talking smack to the cop. Fucking five-0.

Was that a cop or Yosemite Park Ranger?? Either way he’s a badass!
