Chris Sharma: The Legacy Continues
Prana and Big Up just posted this great climbing video to present their climbing super hero: Chris Sharma. Of course, you already know the guy but some of these footages are quite new. It’s useless to say that Big Up made an awesome job on this vid… Again… Enjoy!

It also looks like a new Evolv shoe is on its way, or is it just a new version of the Pontas?

No, those are new Evolv shoes. I saw them at the winter OR show. There is also a lace up version.

Cool vid! Nice to see how climbing can be.
Oh yeah, one would almost forget that these videos are actually a shoe add for the sponsor.

If it is a shoe ad then so be it. Awesome climbing nevertheless.
I see Chris has a tendency to skip bolts/draws even when the climbing doesn’t look overly difficult (for him that is)

what a wild man.

These shoes are not that new…the first pair is the new version of the predator (Predator G2) the second pair is the Optimus prime.
This is a commercial, even if it’s pretty good I hope that it’s not the clip of neanderthal that Big Up promised a month ago on its blog…

Someone told me in spots like Gran Boveda they’re used to climb 35-45 metres long routes with 70 mt. ropes. They skip last one or two bolts and on the top they just jump. And they jump really a lot…. I guess Neanderthal is something like 40-45 metres long…
BTW, I don’t care of its commercial purpose: I like the vid and most of all I like the way Sharma climb.

What is it with people in the climbing community ALWAYS complaining about ads and anything commercial?…. you DO realize that Prana/Evolv/Big Up are all businesses that need to MAKE MONEY… I don’t see anyone mad at a cool Nike video featuring LeBron James just because it is a commercial. Grow up people and think about how the world REALLY works!

Totally agree with Some Guy.
Plus Prana has been a sponsor for Shamra for so many years, stop acting like he just gave his soul to the devil…

Yes it’s a cool video. And no, Chris Sharma didn’t sell his soul to the devil. But crass commercialism kinda stinks.

ya’ll are crazy. take in the climbing and look at the pretty shoes along the way.
Comment by Chris Sharma — February 5, 2010 @ 1:39 am
The fact of the matter is, Chris Sharma is able to climb amazingly hard because of “commercialism”. If evolv, prana, and sterling were not paying his bills and Big Up was not paying for his travel he would not be financially able to climb all the crazy hard routes all over the world that you all want to watch. So everyone who gets upset about sponsorship being commercial can really just shut the fuck up
